10. Woman at Risk Visas

- To be eligible for the Woman at Risk Visa (Subclass 204) you must:
- be a woman;
- not be living in your home country;
- be without protection from a male relative; and
- be able to show that you are in danger of victimisation, harassment or serious abuse because you are a woman.
- To get this visa, you would usually need to apply to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees for a referral to the Australian government.
- This visa is a permanent visa (it does not expire).
- It allows you to live, work and study in Australia.
- In addition people who hold this visa can propose or sponsor family members for permanent residency in Australia.
