About Legal Eagle
The LegalEagle Advantage: Making legal easier
LegalEagle was created to help Australians and their businesses access the legal services they need easily and efficiently.
We provide services to help you choose and connect with the right lawyer for your needs. Our Legal Information Centre helps you can make smarter, better informed legal decisions. We also make it easy for you to create essential legal documents online in minutes, such as a last Will or an application for registration of a company.
Many of our services are free and the others are a low fixed cost. They can be accessed from the comfort and convenience of your home or office, any day or night at a time that suits you; simple, affordable and convenient solutions for your legal needs.
At your fingertips is Australia’s only legal directory individually profiling over 95% of lawyers and firms. Our Find a Lawyer service is free and easy to search so you can find the best lawyer in your area. See reviews by people who have dealt with each lawyer and read any Guides, Articles and Q&A answered by them.
If you need a legal question answered, use our free and anonymous Ask a Lawyer service by posting your question online for lawyers to answer. It’s fast and you may well find the perfect lawyer to help you progress matters.
If you have more than one question, use our Phone a Lawyer service to book a preliminary telephone consult up to 30 minutes. Becoming a LegalPlan member entitles you to one free phone consult with a lawyer on each new legal matter. A LegalPlan costs a few cups of coffee per month: $16.50 for a Personal LegalPlan; $44 for a Business LegalPlan, with no lock-in contracts.
If you need formal legal advice or representation use our Fixed Fee Quotes or tender service to compare lawyers in your area. Describe the legal work you need done. We notify lawyers in your region or the specific lawyers you choose and ask them to provide you with a fixed fee quote or tender. You decide which quote or tender to accept, or not to accept any. This service is free to LegalPlan members (one per month) or available for a low fixed fee.
Many Australians put off creating essential legal documents because of the inconvenience and cost. LegalEagle’s online Make a Document service helps you create the customised legal documents you need easily and affordably. Whether it’s registration of a company, simple contracts, family law documents, a final Will or other common legal documents, we guide you step-by-step through a simple online questionnaire that usually takes 10 to 15 minutes to complete. Click, customise, print. It’s fast, affordable and convenient.
Our Legal Information Centre makes law easier to understand and empowers you to make informed decisions. The most common areas of law are covered with overviews of key points and tips, and details of how a lawyer can help. There’s legal Guides giving step-by-step instructions through processes, Frequently Asked Questions, Q&A by lawyers, Articles uploaded by lawyers and a Glossary to explain difficult legal terms. Finding the essential legal information you need is now easy and it’s free.
The LegalEagle Story.
Legal Eagle Online is an Australian business based in Newcastle NSW. It is coordinated by a lawyer Rob Brook with the assistance of more than 45 experienced lawyers throughout the nation. As lawyers and from discussions with clients, we observed the need to make legal services simpler and more accessible to more Australians. The popularity of online legal services overseas demonstrated ways this could be achieved. LegalEagle takes the best ideas for online legal services from around the world and integrates them into one complete service intended to assist Australians to get the legal help you need. We hope you find the services useful and look forward to receiving your feedback on how they can be improved as the site grows.
