- A community plan subdivides what is usually a large area of land into common property and multiple lots. In a community scheme common property is called association property.
- A community scheme may involve many levels of management.
- There may be multiple precinct, neighbourhood and strata schemes within one community scheme.
- An example of a community scheme is ‘gated communities.’ These are large complexes which may include:
- apartments;
- houses;
- villas;
- townhouses;
- parks;
- clubs;
- swimming pools; and
- shops.
