- Notices must be given to each lot owner in a community scheme whose name appears on the roll:
- at least 21 days before the scheduled meeting if it is for a community association meeting;
- at least 14 days before the scheduled meeting if it is for a precinct association meeting; and
- at least 7 days before the scheduled meeting if it is for a neighbourhood association meeting.
- The first mortgagee such as a financial institution or a covenant chargee (holder of a positive covenant over the property) must be given notice if a motion requires unanimous or a special resolution.
- This is a default time frame guide. You should always check your scheme’s management statement to see what time frames are specifically applicable.
- Notices follow a prescribed format and must include the motions that are to be considered at the meeting among other things.
