  • There are a number of visas in the skilled visa segment which has a slightly different procedure.
  • Some changes have been made to this class of visa in order to save time and ensure efficient flexibility catering to Australia’s labour needs.
  • The program is called SkillSelect and has been in place since 2012.
  • The kinds of visas that can be applied using this program are the:

  • If an employer has nominated an interest in you as a skilled employee the appropriate visas would be the Temporary Work (Skilled) visa (subclass 457) and either the Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186) or its regional equivalent (subclass 187).
