5. Short Term Visit Documents

- For a short term visit to Australia such as a Visitor visa (Subclass 600) you will need some or all of the following documents to support your application:
- evidence of family, employment and other ties to your country of residence to show that you intend to go home after your visit;
- if you are visiting a relative in Australia provide evidence of your relationship with that person such as marriage or birth certificates;
- evidence of adequate funds or access to adequate funds to support yourself during your visit;
- if someone is providing support for your application evidence of your relationship with this person and how they are financially supporting you;
- evidence from your employer such as a letter outlining:
- your present position;
- your duration of service;
- salary; and
- period of approved leave.
- if you are self-employed evidence of the business you run such as registration and account statements;
- any other form of evidence that shows you have the intention to return to your home country; and
- a letter of invitation from friends or relatives that you will be visiting with.
