    5. Short Term Visit Documents
  • For a short term visit to Australia such as a Visitor visa (Subclass 600) you will need some or all of the following documents to support your application:
    • evidence of family, employment and other ties to your country of residence to show that you intend to go home after your visit;
    • if you are visiting a relative in Australia provide evidence of your relationship with that person such as marriage or birth certificates;
    • evidence of adequate funds or access to adequate funds to support yourself during your visit;
    • if someone is providing support for your application evidence of your relationship with this person and how they are financially supporting you;
    • evidence from your employer such as a letter outlining:
      • your present position;
      • your duration of service;
      • salary; and
      • period of approved leave.
    • if you are self-employed evidence of the business you run such as registration and account statements;
    • any other form of evidence that shows you have the intention to return to your home country; and
    • a letter of invitation from friends or relatives that you will be visiting with.
