    6. Partner Visa Documents
  • For a long term visit to Australia such as a Partner visa (Offshore Subclass 309) you will need some or all of the following documents to support your application:
    • a marriage certificate including certified translations if it is not in English;
    • two statutory declarations from friends or relatives stating their knowledge of your relationship and that it is genuine;
    • statutory declarations from the applicant and the sponsor each outlining a history of your relationship as well as providing proof of joint financial and domestic arrangements;
    • adequate proof that you and your sponsor have a financial commitment to each other such as joint bills or accounts;
    • evidence of cohabitation on a permanent basis;
    • photographic evidence that you are a couple and that you present yourselves to the community as a couple. Photos may include wedding photos or photos from family celebrations or travels together;
    • a certified copy of the sponsor’s:
      • passport;
      • birth certificate;
      • Australian citizenship certificate; or
      • permanent residence visa;
    • a police clearance certificate from your home country or any other country you have spent substantial time in;
    • details of any dependent children if applicable; and
    • a cover letter listing your reasons for making the application and the documents that are being attached.

You will need to undergo a medical check at the designated medical centre once the application is made. Ensure that you do not open the sealed envelope from the doctor.
