    4. Assistance Animals
  • An assistance animal is an animal accredited to assist a person with a disability. These animals are usually dogs but can be any animal that has the relevant accreditation.
  • If you are an individual with a disability you have the right to be accompanied by an assistance animal in any public building, public place and public transport. You cannot be charged with an offence for bringing an assistance animal into any such location.
  • It may be an offence to refuse a person with an assistance animal the right to enter. For more information see our Anti-Discrimination and our Disability topic.
  • No entry fee can be charged for an assistance animal.
