  • There are numerous licences and requirements to obtain before exhibiting an animal in Australia. To find out more about what licences are required you should contact the primary industries department in your state or territory.
  • There are general standards relating to animal exhibition in NSW.
  • The standards have been developed to ensure the welfare of animals kept for exhibiting purposes and cover a wide range of issues including:
    • physiological and physical animal welfare;
    • educational values of exhibits;
    • public safety; and
    • guidelines for new and existing displays.
  • You need to check the relevant legislation in your state or territory as the rules are different in each jurisdiction.
