    6. RTW Co-ordinator Obligations
  • Once the injury management process is in place the employer is required to ensure that the designated return to work (RTW) co-ordinator for the workplace:
  • contacts the injured employee and offers any available assistance;
  • makes an initial determination on whether rehabilitation is necessary or possible;
  • arranges for a professional assessment of the employee’s needs and capabilities;
  • consults with the employee to develop an individual RTW plan;
  • oversees and monitors the employee’s return to work and suitable duties in consultation with the employee and medical practitioners where necessary; and
  • keeps records of the program as required.
