Who can attend a conference at the AAT?

  • The people who attend a conference are:
    • a tribunal member or Conference Registrar conducting the conference;
    • the applicant who made the application for review; and
    • the respondent who is usually a representative of the department that made the decision.
  • The other people who may attend are:
    • a lawyer representing the applicant or the respondent;
    • a support person such as a friend or family member; and
    • an interpreter who will be provided by the tribunal if needed.
