    5. End of Relationship BFAs
  • End of relationship BFAs are an alternative to formalizing property arrangements through the Family Court.
  • Both parties must be independently represented but there is no court involvement for a BFA.
  • At the end of a relationship the facts are generally known even though there may be areas of dispute such as:
    • the length of relationship;
    • how the finances were managed; or
    • how many dependent children the parties have.
  • Unlike a BFA entered into at the beginning of a relationship with an end of relationship BFA there is far less speculation about future circumstances.
