Last updated: 26 Jun 2015
- End of relationship BFAs are an alternative to formalizing property arrangements through the Family Court.
- Both parties must be independently represented but there is no court involvement for a BFA.
- At the end of a relationship the facts are generally known even though there may be areas of dispute such as:
- the length of relationship;
- how the finances were managed; or
- how many dependent children the parties have.
- Unlike a BFA entered into at the beginning of a relationship with an end of relationship BFA there is far less speculation about future circumstances.
