- If you are a repeat offender or the offence is more serious the police will issue a warrant for arrest and charge you.
- A summons will be issued which will be notify you of the future date, time and location of your court attendance.
- The criminal justice process for juveniles operates much like the criminal justice process for adults.
- You are entitled to have your lawyer and parents or guardians present at each stage of the trial.
- In some jurisdictions where the offender is under the age of 15 the court may insist on the presence of a parent or guardian and adjourn the hearing to a date when a parent or guardian can attend.
