    4.  Unlawful Behaviour
  • Public order offences make it illegal to do certain things or behave in a certain way in a public place.
  • Different acts or behaviour are covered by this category of offence. These may include:
    • swearing;
    • using offensive or threatening language;
    • being drunk in a public place;
    • making graffiti;
    • loitering;
    • begging;
    • exposing your genitals (private parts);
    • disorderly conduct;
    • lighting fires or setting off fireworks without a permit;
    • unlawfully selling drugs;
    • spitting; or
    • littering.
  • Society considers this type of behaviour disruptive, unreasonable and unacceptable. It is sometimes referred to as ‘anti-social behaviour’.
