- Rape is the sexual penetration of another person without that person’s consent.
- Sexual penetration means the penetration to any extent of a woman’s vagina or of a person’s anus or mouth with any part of the body or with an object.
- Females and males can be the victims of rape just as females and males can commit rape.
- In NSW the term rape has been replaced by the gender-neutral term ‘sexual intercourse without consent.’
