- Before registering a company, there are many considerations to be taken into account and decisions to be made.
- In particular you should decide:
- whether a company structure is appropriate for your business needs;
- the type of company that should be registered. Companies can be limited by shares or unlimited, proprietary or public;
- the rules for internal governance such as a constitution, replaceable rules or a combination of these;
- who will direct the company and who will serve as company secretary;
- who the initial members (shareholders) will be; and
- the company name and registered office address.
- These are the most basic issues that must be considered before registering your company.
- A lawyer can help you design a company structure that meets the needs of your business.
