How does a CLC decide what policy reform work to do?

  • Community Legal Centres look at their casework to decide what policy reform work they will do.
  • They see if there is a pattern of discriminatory treatment due to an unfair law or regulation. They use the evidence of their casework to support their argument for policy reform in a particular area.
  • They may also be open to suggestions from the community about an issue. If you or your organisation know of an area of law that is unfair or causes injustice then you should contact a CLC and talk to them about it.
  • You can use our free and anonymous Ask a Lawyer service if you have a particular issue you think might be part of a pattern of injustice.
