I do not wish to engage in the injury management program offered by my employer. Can I still receive workers compensation payments?

I have been going to the injury management program offered by my employer and find them monotonous and tiring. I no longer wish to attend the program. Can I still receive my compensation benefits?

  • While employees have the right to choose whether or not they engage with the injury management process there are penalties that may flow from refusing to participate including a reduction in workers compensation benefits in a number of states.
  • In QLD and NSW for example an employee that does not participate in the injury management process can have their payments suspended by the insurer.
