Can the employee choose a doctor of their choice for a medical exam?

As part of my RTW plan I am required to undergo a medical examination. My employer is pushing me to use the company’s preferred doctor but I would be more comfortable using my own. What are my rights?

  • Injured employees have the right to choose their own medical practitioners provided they are appropriately registered.
  • Your company cannot force you to be treated by a medical practitioner of their choosing without your consent.
