- Conveyancing is a technical process that requires the involvement of many stakeholders. You will need the cooperation of all of these parties and more for a successful and smooth transfer. The most common parties are:
- the vendor and their lawyer or conveyancer;
- the purchaser and their lawyer or conveyancer;
- the real estate agency;
- the financier or bank acting as the incoming mortgagee for the purchaser; and
- the outgoing mortgagee for the vendor.
- Other parties to consider in the transfer of land include:
- the local council;
- the local water authority;
- the state land tax authority;
- the state or territory government for payment of stamp duty;
- the building and pest inspection companies; and
- the surveyor.
