- If you are often publishing content or information about other people it is best to check your work carefully before it is published.
- Have you verified all your information through a credible source?
- Have you checked that all illustrations, headlines, taglines and photos that are being used are not defamatory? These items can also be defamatory.
- Can someone be personally identified? Try to remove any specific details that might lead to identification.
- If identification is necessary can you rely on any of the defences to defamation outlined above?
- Must you publish this content? Consider the pros and cons of publishing against being sued for defamation.
