What is a court martial?
- A court martial is a military court.
- Trials are conducted by serving military legal officers to determine the guilt of members of the armed forces for offences against or breaches of military law.
- It is different from a civilian court in that trials in civilian courts are judged by independent and impartial judges whereas trials in a court martial are determined by in-house officers.
