Is there any documentation I should bring to my first consultation?
· Gather and organise all the documents relating to your matter and bring these to the first consultation.
· You should make a list of all the relevant facts for example times and dates of the relevant events and names of other parties.
- For example if you have been in an accident of some sort whether it involved a motor vehicle or happened at your workplace it is important that you write down details on how the accident occurred including any injuries you sustained as a consequence of the accident.
- You may wish to draw a diagram of the accident and make a list of all the expenses you have paid relating to the accident.
· This will enable your lawyer to understand what has happened.
· You should also write down what outcome you want.
- For example if it is a child custody matter you should write down how many days a week you want to have the children and what changeover arrangements you want.
· A list of any question you have about your matter and the process may also be helpful to you.
