What are my maintenance obligations as a tenant?
- A tenant is only responsible for basic maintenance of the property. This will usually include:
- cleaning;
- managing the garden; and
- replacing light bulbs.
- The landlord is responsible for any repairs associated with:
- electrical faults;
- smoke alarms;
- cleaning gutters;
- removal of trees or other obstacles; and
- other more substantial and costly issues.
