While I was on a flight last month I slipped on a spilt drink in the aisle and injured my back. As a result of my injury I had to leave my contracted position and will most likely lose a whole year’s worth of income. How much compensation can I claim for personal injury?

- For an Australian airline or where a flight begins or ends in Australia the maximum amount of compensation that can be claimed for personal injury is $500,000.
- There are different limits that apply for different countries all over the world.
- In the event that the airline is found to be reckless (deliberately careless) then there is no limit to the amount of compensation.
