Is a shareholders agreement necessary for an incorporated joint venture?

My partner and I are deciding on setting up an incorporated joint venture. We have been thinking of cutting some costs in the set up process and want to know if we should invest resources in creating a shareholders agreement.

  • Shareholders agreements are useful for regulating the rights and interests of all shareholders to any company.
  • In the event that a decision is made to establish an incorporated joint venture then it would be useful for shareholders to consider an appropriate shareholders agreement.
