What is comparative advertising?

I operate a small business selling computers. Can I advertise my computers as being superior to those of one of my competitors?

  • Yes. This type of practice is known as comparative advertising.
  • It is legal provided that you do not cast your business competitor in a negative way.
  • You should ensure that the comparison is accurate and that it will be valid for the life of the advertisement or promotion.
