What sort of errors might be on my credit report?

My request to get a small personal loan was rejected on the basis of my credit history. The lender said that I have too many large debts already listed. I think there has been some mistake. Can my credit report contain errors?

  • Credit reports can have a real impact on your ability to access finance.
  • You should check your personal details to make sure this are correct.
  • You should carefully check each of the individual debts that are listed and their amount. Sometimes these contain the wrong amount or may even appear twice.
  • You may need to check the dates of any missed payments for example.
