I am considering returning home. Is there any assistance available?

I believe the situation in my country has settled and I no longer face persecution. I wish to see my family again. As I don’t have any money or assets, I cannot afford to pay for my own flight. Are there any organisations that can help me?

  • People who arrive ‘illegally’ by boat can return home voluntarily at any time.
  • The International Organization for Migration provides assistance for people that choose to return to home voluntarily.
  • Be aware that on some types of visas if you return home you may forfeit your right to live in Australia again.
