How does an Arbitration run?

I have a commercial dispute and I’m considering taking it to arbitration rather than court. What does it involve though? Is there a hearing and will evidence be heard?

  • Arbitration involves an arbitration hearing where the arbitrator will listen to and read the evidence in support of each person’s claim.
  • Evidence can be presented to the arbitrator in both written and oral form.
  • A good way to start preparing your evidence is to read the other person’s claim. This way you can see what issues you may need to provide evidence for and what documents you can use to support your case.
