I am a victim of domestic violence. Is it safe for me to seek help from Legal Aid? What other services can Legal Aid provide for me?
Lawyer Answers (1): Answers from lawyers are general preliminary responses. They are not formal legal advice and cannot taken account of all your circumstances. They do not create a lawyer–client relationship.

- You should inform Legal Aid of your circumstances.
- Legal Aid may be able to deal with the matter in a way that means you won’t have to talk directly to or see your partner or ex-partner.
- Legal Aid may also be able to refer you to social support groups and other services who can help you through the non-legal aspects of your situation such as counselling and safety planning.
