I have been summonsed to testify. Must I go to court?

I witnessed a bar fight and have been summonsed to testify in court. I know both the parties in the fight and I don’t want to testify against either. I also don’t want to lose a day of work. Do I have to go to court?

  • If you received a summons you have to attend court even if you do not want to.
  • If you do not attend court without a valid reason you can be arrested.
