Is it possible to be convicted without punishment?

I want to plead guilty to an offence. I accept that I committed it and I wish to be honest, but I also think it was a minor offence and doesn’t deserve a punishment. Can I plead guilty and be convicted but not be punished?

  • Yes, as long as you give a written undertaking that you will be of good behaviour for 12 months.
  • A conviction will still be recorded against your name.
