What searches are needed for trade mark registration?
I have completed a trade mark search. Is this enough?

- It depends what the search comprises. At the very least you should include searches of:
- the Trade Marks Office database for substantially identical and deceptively similar marks;
- the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) database for company and business names;
- relevant directory searches;
- corresponding domain name searches;
- corresponding social media names; and
- general internet searches.
