I was recently successful in obtaining a planning permit to build on a plot lot of land. However the permit says that the building can only be two levels high where I wanted three and the façade must match that of the street which I think is really ugly. Can the local government do this?

- Yes. The local government body can impose any conditions on building permits or development consents as long as the conditions are fair and reasonably related to the development that the permit concerns.
