Is there a list of tariff concession orders?

I am trying to decide which goods to import. How can I tell if any of them are covered by a tariff concession order?

  • You need to work out which ‘classification’ the goods fall to. See our Classification topic for more information.
  • Once you have classified the goods you can look on the Customs website to see what tariff concession orders are available within that classification. The tariff concession orders can be found at: http://www.customs.gov.au/tariff/tariff2012.asp#Schedule3.
  • You will need to pay close attention to the actual wording of the tariff concession order as the goods must fit the terms of the tariff concession order exactly. This includes details such as colours and dimensions.
  • If you have already imported the goods you should also check the effective date of the tariff concession order and make sure it existed at the date you imported your goods.
