My close relative was a victim of crime. Can I apply for compensation?
My sister was killed by her ex-husband. We were very close and I am suffering from depression. I have also had to quit my job so I can take care of her children. Will the government help me?

- You can apply for compensation where a close relative was the victim of a crime but only if the relative was the victim of a homicide.
- All states provide for compensation to be paid out to close family members of a homicide victim such as a spouse, parent, sibling or child.
