When do I need to go to Court?

I was caught painting some graffiti on the side of a building. I have been caught before and received a warning and a fine. The police said this time I would be charged with a criminal offence and have to go to court. What is going to happen next?

  • If you have been charged then you should have been provided with a charge sheet telling you:
    • what you have been charged with;
    • the address of the court you need to attend; and
    • the time and date of the court hearing.
  • If you have not received a charge sheet you can call the police station and ask for a copy of the documents to be sent to you.
  • If you are still unsure a lawyer can help you with this inquiry.
