Do I have to provide my DNA if the police ask for it?

My friends and I are in a band. We have been accused of indecently assaulting one of our teenage fans after a concert.

  • No. If you do not consent to give your DNA the police are obliged to obtain a warrant.
  • They would have to demonstrate to a judge or magistrate that there are reasonable grounds for the taking of a DNA sample.
