I was at a party last weekend where I had a few beers. I did not realise that I had gone over the alcohol limit for driving. I crashed into another vehicle. No one was injured but the other person’s car was badly damaged. Will my insurance pay for the damage?

- This will depend on your insurance policy. You should check your insurance product disclosure statement which should list any exclusions to the cover.
- If the policy says you are not covered if you were affected by alcohol then you are not covered. This may also be the case with speeding and drug use.
