I left the scene of the accident. Can I be charged?

Last week I was involved in a motor vehicle accident. I accidently hit a car and did not stop to exchange details. Can I get into trouble?

  • You might be charged with one or more of the following offences:
    • failure to stop after an accident;
    • failure to exchange names and addresses;
    • failure to render assistance; or
    • failure to report an accident to the nearest police station.
