I was driving in the local area road that has marked bicycle lanes. A bicycle rider was doing risky manoeuvres on the middle of road. I blinked my headlights and honked to announce I was behind the bicycle. He moved out of the road onto the marked bicycle lanes. As I was going by he suddenly came in front of my car making me swerve and hit a pole. My car was damaged. What can I do?

- Bicycle riders are treated the same as drivers for liability purposes.
- Most bicycle riders don’t have insurance.
- If the bicycle rider does not have insurance you can still make a claim against them personally.
- However your ability to do this will depend on whether you got their details or can identify them.
