I had an accident and now have a permanent impairment. What can I do?

I was involved in a serious accident a month ago in Melbourne. As a result of the accident I permanently lost my eyesight. Can I get some sort of compensation?

  • In Victoria you can apply to the Transport Accident Commission for a lump sum compensation payment. This is known as an impairment benefit.
  • The Transport Accident Commission will assess your level of impairment which will affect how much compensation you will receive.
