Do I get to speak to the magistrate or judge in court?

  • If you are self-represented then you can speak on your own behalf throughout your case.
  • If you have a lawyer representing you then it is their job to take your instructions (your version of events) and to speak on your behalf to the magistrate or judge.
  • If there is something you want said in court you can instruct your lawyer about this. They will give you advice about the best time to raise it.
