What should I do if I have already paid the debt?
- If you have received a demand for payment for a debt that you have already paid then you should immediately contact the creditor.
- You should write to them and state that:
- you have paid the debt;
- the exact date that you paid the debt; and
- include any supporting documents that proves this such as:
- bank statements;
- a receipt; or
- an invoice.
